Intel’s Raptor Lake CPUs Reclaim Number One Spot in Benchmarks

Intel’s newest Core i9-13980HX mobile CPU, released just yesterday, has already reclaimed the number one spot in the PassMark mobile CPU benchmark rankings. This Raptor Lake-HX processor, featuring 24 cores with a TDP of 55W, has pushed the 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 7845HX to third place in the rankings, demonstrating a significant performance increase from Intel on the mobile CPU market.

The PassMark results show that in single-threaded tests, the Intel Core i9-13980HX is between 9% and 14% faster than the Ryzen 9 7845HX and 11% faster in multi-core performance. Intel’s 8 performance and 16 efficiency cores have made a difference in the benchmarking results. However, AMD is expected to release a 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX in the near future, which could weaken Intel’s leading position.

The Raptor Lake-HX CPUs have also passed other benchmarks, such as CPU-Z Validator and Geekbench. These tests have shown that they might be some of the best processors currently available on the market, mobile or otherwise. Yet AMD might still have a chance to compete if they offer more affordable laptops.

Finally, to get a better picture of the Raptor Lake-HX processor’s capabilities, we will have to wait for the results of cross-testing the Intel Core i9-13980HX against AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9 7945HX.

In conclusion, Intel’s Core i9-13980HX mobile processor has already proven to be a huge success in benchmarking, taking the number one position in the PassMark mobile CPU rankings. This Raptor Lake-HX chip has 24 cores and a TDP of 55W, providing an impressive performance boost in both single-threaded tests and multicore performance.
