Netflix Announces Profile Transfers

After several months of rigorous testing, Netflix has announced a new feature called Profile Transfer. According to the official press release, this feature is the ability to move saved games, My List, viewing history, personalized recommendations, and other data to a new account.

Undoubtedly, a useful feature of this update is the ability for users who share an account with someone to switch to a new one at any time. Since the circumstances of life are constantly changing and it may happen that after a while, you part with your partner, transfer from your parents, or something else. And thanks to the new feature, creating a new account, which will save all the information you need, is now very easy.

The profit for Netflix itself in this update is obvious. Undoubtedly, the company strives to ensure that in the near future each user of the platform has their own separate account. As a result, the company's profit will increase significantly, since at this stage, as a rule, only one family member subscribes to Netflix, so that all residents of the house can use it.

The Profile Transfer feature has been tested since March of this year in Peru, Costa Rica, and Chile. And now its scope will be even wider. It became another step in Netflix in the fight against users who share their passwords. In addition to this decision, the company introduced a separate fee for the use of your account by each additional user, as well as confirmation codes for login, which greatly complicate the task of using one account by several people.

Do you find the new feature for transferring data between accounts convenient? Have you ever shared your account with other users? Please share your thoughts below.
