Nintendo to Increase Switch Production Ahead of Breath of the Wild 2
Jan-20-2023
Nintendo has announced plans to increase production of their popular Switch console in the coming months, ahead of the highly anticipated sequel, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2. After lowering projected sales for the console in November 2020, Nintendo has reportedly told suppliers that it plans to ramp up production starting in April 2022.
While many people expected sales for the six-year-old console to start diminishing, Bloomberg reports that this slump was most likely due to supply issues rather than a lack of demand. This news comes as no surprise, given how successful and popular The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (2017) was among gamers worldwide.
As part of its plan to increase production, Nintendo is reportedly looking into expanding its network of suppliers and components beyond China, where it currently sources most parts for the Switch. Additionally, they are also said to be exploring ways to reduce costs associated with producing consoles by using more efficient manufacturing processes.
Furthermore, according to some analysts at Jefferies Group LLC., there is a possibility that third-party developers may soon be able to create games exclusively for Nintendo’s hybrid console – a move that could see increased demand from consumers and potentially boost sales even further over time.
With all these developments taken into consideration, coupled with an evergreen classic such as Breath Of The Wild being remastered on the Switch platform later this year – fans can expect an interesting few months ahead when it comes to gaming on Nintendo's beloved hybrid device!
